PCR stands for polymerase chain reaction. It is the most important laboratory method for investigating the molecular fine structure of genetic material and is used in human medicine, among other things, for diagnosing infectious diseases such as SARS-CoV-2.
For this purpose, we cooperate with laboratories that are specially tailored to the infrastructure of our centers and whose expertise perfectly complements our structures.

In order not to falsify the result, we ask you to refrain from eating, smoking and drinking in the 20 minutes before the test.
If there is a positive rapid test result of a test performed in one of our Berlin centers, the Next-Day PCR Test (result on the following day by midnight) is free of charge. In such cases, please book the test by clicking on the “OEGD Retesting” button at the top of the screen. If you have paid for a PCR test prior, reimbursement is not possible.
The Test Procedure
Book Online
Simply select the desired date on our website and pay contactless. You will receive your ticket by e-mail directly afterwards.
Arrival at the Test Center
Once you arrive, your ticket will be scanned and you will be assigned to one of the test booths. Very important: Please arrive on time.
The Swab
Immediately afterwards, a swab is taken from one of your nostrils as well as your mouth. This usually takes no longer than 30 seconds. Of course, your privacy comes first. In order not to falsify the result, we ask you to refrain from eating, smoking and drinking in the 20 minutes before the test.
Evaluation in Laboratory
The sample is evaluated in our partner laboratory. Please refer to the category ‘Locations’ in the bar above to see how long this takes in the respective centers or for the various procedures.
The Result
When the time comes, you will receive an email and can download the result directly. For data protection reasons, your result will be transmitted in encrypted form. It is bilingual: German and English.

Yes, all PCR results are issued in the form of an RT-PCR report. The Ct value is indicated for all positive results.
You can download the result of a rapid test up to 72 hours after receipt. The result of a PCR test up to six days later.

Only people who plan to attend an indoor event on the day of testing, people who will have contact with people who are at high risk of developing severe Covid-19 on the day of testing (These are people 60 years and older, people with disabilities, people with pre-existing conditions), and people who have received an alert of increased risk through the Corona alert app are eligible for the €3 citizen test with co-pay.
Only “vulnerable groups” are eligible for the free citizenship test.Eligible are: Pregnant women in the first trimester, hospital and nursing home visitors, household members of infected persons, residents of institutions for integration assistance, and persons who cannot be vaccinated. Free testing only by proof, e.g. identity card.
For all other persons, the antigen rapid test (14.90 €) is intended.
For rapid antigen tests, we use the Corona-Warn, Luca and BÄR apps. We do not yet offer integration of PCR tests.

No. Reimbursement for the PCR test is only possible if there is a positive rapid test from one of our Berlin centers. In such cases, you’ll receive a voucher code for a PCR test within 24 hours.
If you have a positive rapid test result, go into quarantine immediately. If you have a positive result from a rapid test carried out in one of our Berlin centres, you can book a free PCR test by clicking on “OEGD retesting” at the top of the screen on the website. Important: The test will only be carried out free of charge if you can show the positive result and your ID card at the centre.
If you have a positive rapid test from another centre, the PCR test cannot be reimbursed. In such cases, please visit a national test centre or your family practice. In addition, please immediately inform all persons with whom you have had contact in the last few days about your infection. When the result is available, you will receive an e-mail. After entering the requested data, you can retrieve and download your result. Please make sure to enter all information correctly when booking.
If there is a positive rapid test result from a test performed in one of our Berlin centers, the PCR test is free of charge. In such cases, a free Next-Day PCR Test (result on the following day by midnight) can be booked via “OEGD Retesting”. For verification at the test appointment, only the positive result of the rapid test (max. 48h old) and an identification document must be brought along. If you have paid for a PCR test prior, reimbursement is not possible.

In principle, persons from 5 years of age may be tested. However, parents must book and be present at the appointment for children under the age of 14. Children over the age of 14 may book a test and attend the appointment on their own, with a letter of consent from their parent or guardian. If the test cannot be performed on a child, e.g. because the child refuses, the costs will not be reimbursed. We will be happy to issue a voucher code in such cases.
If you book a paid test, you agree to pay the costs of the booking yourself. Whether you will be reimbursed afterwards varies from case to case. Please contact your health insurance or your employer. The invoice can be downloaded in the booking confirmation of ticket.io in “My Area”. The situation is different for the free antigen rapid tests (citizen test). With this you can be tested daily for the coronavirus free of charge. The costs are covered by the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians.

All test results are available online. For data protection reasons, the results of a rapid test can only be accessed for 72 hours, those of a PCR test for up to six days after receipt. During this time they can be downloaded.

In a PCR test, DNA is multiplied in a polymer chain reaction (PCR) in a laboratory to raise it above the detection limit. An antigen test detects protein fragments of the coronavirus rather than DNA. No multiplication of the virus material is performed for this. Both methods detect whether an infection with SARS-CoV-2 is present.
